Next Step Living to add 100

Boston’s Next Step Living expects to add 100 employees in the next six to eight months, and double its annual revenue to nearly $60 million for 2013.

The energy-efficiency services firm currently employs about 525 full time, with about 460 of those employees in Boston. About 60 of the new hires will be headquartered in the city. Go here for details.

The 5-year-old firm’s website states that it is New England’s leading residential energy efficiency company. It has provided Home Energy Assessments to the majority of its customers at no cost or for a small fee due to utility-sponsored state programs. Customers can choose to add insulation, upgrade to energy-efficient windows or heating systems or install solar panels or a sustainable roof.

The company’s team of professionals has performed retrofits at 50,000 homes, most of them in the state. It plans to continue expanding its geographic reach in the future, and expects to set up operations in its next state some time in 2014.
