E2 names NM in top ten for green jobs

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico was named in the top 10 in a green jobs report released by Environmental Entrepreneurs, a group of business leaders promoting environmentally sustainable economic growth.

According to its website, Environmental Entrepreneurs names New Mexico a top 10 in green growth for its announcement of 400 solar jobs, due in part to its geographic resources. Wind projects created 600 construction jobs and 40 permanent positions in operations, and 100 construction jobs were created with the announcement of the state’s first utility scale geothermal plant which will also create eight permanent positions.

The site reports five announcements and 1,148 jobs in green energy in New Mexico.
