Twin Eagle Sand Logistics breaks ground on Permian Rail Park

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Houston-based Twin Eagle Sand Logistics has broken ground on a new rail park to deliver frac sand just outside San Antonio. Called the Permian Rail Park, it will consist of 530 acres and is located eight miles west of Big Spring in West Texas.

Phase I, which will use 33,000 feet of track to establish rail-to-truck sand trans-loading services, will be completed in the first quarter of 2016. The second phase will establish a loop track to support crude-by-rail activity and infrastructure for trucking sand and crude in the Permian Basin.

The cost of the project will be several million dollars, and the new project is Twin Eagle Sand Logistic’s fifth frac sand terminal. The others are located in the Eagle Ford Shale and Laredo.
