EdgeData streamlining wind turbine inspection in Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — A new Grand Forks-based startup, EdgeData, is streamlining wind turbine inspection to help avoid expensive repairs to wind turbine blades. The company’s BladeEdge software compiles the photos taken by unmanned aircraft into easily accessible images that show the exact location of potential damage to a wind turbine blade.
In addition to the photo processing, EdgeData also provides analysis that allows wind turbine owners to track blade conditions while also establishing a maintenance schedule. EdgeData, which was established in December 2014, currently operates out of the UND Tech Accelerator.
